Credit Card Debt Plan – 3 Tips for the Perfect Plan

Credit

If we don’t already know it, credit card debt is bad. Any outstanding balance that we carry on a credit card becomes a financial liability.

That liability is an insidious one in the form of interest being charged against that balance every twenty or twenty-five days by the creditor.

Hector Milla Editor of the “Credit Card Debt Counseling” website — http://www.CreditCardDebtCounseling.biz – pointed out;

“…Those credit card balances continue to grow with each purchase that we charge, and with each monthly interest fee being applied. We make minimum monthly payments, and watch our debt obligation mushroom every month. How can we address this problem? Here are three tips to follow:

The first tip is the most difficult. Each credit card must be rendered useless. Yes, that means cutting those credit cards in half with a pair of scissors. From now on your mantra will be, “cash is king”. If you cannot pay cash for the object of your purchase, then wait until you can. Delayed gratification is a trait that will be developed soon after you cut your cards in half. Do not “cancel” those cards because it may have a negative impact upon your credit history…”

Secondly, a monthly payment plan is to be followed. This plan will need an additional amount of money that you can reasonably apply over and above your minimum monthly payments . The more you can budget for this additional amount, the quicker your plan will work. Take the card with the highest interest rate and apply the additional amount to the minimum payment being made and continue to do so until the balance is paid in full. All other cards will be receiving their minimum payments until the first card is paid off. You then take the entire monthly payment that was being made on the first card and apply that amount to the next card along with its monthly minimum. This method accelerates with time.

“…Third tip is to contact a certified credit card debt settlement service if you cannot see yourself completing your own program as suggested above. Many debtors have received help this way…” added H. Milla.

To be debt free takes discipline. Pay now, or pay more later.
